I have finished the first 2 weeks back at my old company. On my 4th day back there was a fire in the meadowlands across the street. It went on for hours right outside my window with fire trucks and onlookers. The flames and smoke blocked our view of the city. Late in the day, when the fire was almost out, we could smell smoke slightly in the building. The next morning when I drove up for work, the smell was strong since it had rained the night before and drenched the blackened fields.

Last night, I saw Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf on Broadway starring Kathleen Turner. All of the actors were great, which of course, they had to be. For those that don't know, the entire play is set in a living room from the hours of about 2 am to 5:30 am with only 4 drunken people. I had wanted to see this play because I have seen the Liz Taylor film a few times, which is also great. Definately a classic.

I hope to go to the beach tomorrow. It is supposed to rain in the evening but hopefully, I can leave early enough to miss most of the traffic and the rain. Happy Memorial Day everyone!

Oh, and Happy Birthday to my someone special... ;-)

New Job, New Gloves, New Bathroom

Okay, okay, so I haven't posted in a while. I was reading a friend's blog and it reminded me to post. Well, I have some news. I have accepted a job offer at my old company. So, after only 5 months and lots of consideration, I have decided to leave my new job. I have no idea what is going to happen, but I so hope I made the right decision.

I have almost finished the sweater I have been knitting. I took a picture about half way through, but since I am almost finished I will just wait to post one. However, I did finish up some fingerless gloves:

In other news, I finished my bathroom. It took me about a week, so it's been done for a while now. Here's some pictures, from beginning to end. You can see the big holes in the plaster that I fixed, then painted with mold-resistant paint, and then with Classic Taupe with a Tuscany Red trim. Also, you can see in the last picture the painting I created to match the decor.

Sorry about the column of pictures, but Blogger doesn't seem to handle tables well... When I tried putting a table in, it published with a huge space before it (after my text), even though there was nothing in the code telling it to do that. If someone knows the secret to using tables in Blogger, let me know.
