Rainy Days

The last few days have been very rainy. It also went from warm to chilly very quickly. Mom is in the Caribbean, so I'm very jealous. My weekend was okay though because I got a new, very needed laptop. I have been setting it up and transferring files over from my old laptop that is about to die. It's too bad that all the accessories that I no longer need, and that cost me a lot when I bought them, are worth almost nothing now (i.e. if I were to try to sell them on eBay). That's technology for ya! Oh well.

I am more than halfway through the Saramago book I've been reading, The Cave. It took me a while to get into it because, like Blindness, there are many very long sentences and paragraphs, and no quotes to show dialogue. His books are kind of hard to read but worth it in the end. After this book, I have The Stone Raft, also by Saramago.

In a few weeks I am going to Arizona for the Color Imaging Conference, the ICC meeting, and other various related sessions. I'm looking forward to the warm weather and to seeing some friends, classmates, and professors from Rochester and various other places. I hope the meetings are as interesting as I am sure the conference will be. I will be there for 10 long days with one day off. I wonder what there is to do in Scottsdale on a Sunday...?
