Finally, after years of searching, I have found it: This toe + this heel + calf shaping (easily achieved by switching needle sizes) - stupid unnecessary ribbing + incredible I-cord Bind Off = The Perfect Sock.

Also, clean grandma's lace using Martha's instructions.

Summer 2007 Knitty

My favorite patterns from the new issue of Knitty:

Unmentionables - this pattern reminds me of Witches Britches from Knit 2 Together

Coupling - I love the stitch pattern on these socks

Wisp - for some reason I love the way this looks and it seems so simple, plus I have this yarn in my stash (surprise, surprise)

Grrr - this is an adorable washcloth- looks like it'd be great for kids

In non-knitting news, I am trying out the beta version of the Safari browser and so far I am loving it!

Ravelry!

I got my invite to Ravelry! Now I can do all the things I have been wanting to for a while... inventory my yarn (at least better and in a more organized way than I've done previously), books, needles, projects, etc. I am loving it so far, especially the cute little bookshelves. [Note: Ravelry is currently in beta and is gradually adding members that request an invite]. Anyone on ravelry who wants to be my "friend"???

Sorry for the lack of blogging. It has gotten to the point where I haven't even been reading (at least not much more than skimming)/commenting as often. Work seems to be getting in the way of life at the moment. I did, however, start reading Angela's Ashes. I haven't started a new book that I think I might actually get to finish in over a year or more.

I do have things to post about... eventually: a small bit of travel, my job situation (maybe), new projects including *gasp* a crochet ripple blanket...
