More Handspun

I still had the Louet S10 wheel on loan last week and so spun some new yarn. This one is my favorite so far. I made about 125 yards from the 4 oz. of Chameleon Colorworks roving in the Indian Wedding colorway. I am calling it Sangria because it reminds me more of a summer sangria.

I bought the roving for this yarn almost 2 years ago at a fiber festival. It is wool and llama - about 50/50, I think. I don't remember how many ounces it was, but I ended up making about 375 yards. This picture does not do the color justice. It is a natural color (not dyed) that is more like a dark chocolate brown.

Here's a new picture of my kitty:

And some more pictures from my garden:

The big tropical-looking plant on the top-right, which I originally bought at Ikea, is getting so big that I have re-potted it once and I may have to eventually re-pot it again.

My mom has a plant that has been around since she bought it at Walmart 15-20 years ago. It was about 2 feet tall when she bought it. It is now well over 8 feet tall with these ridiculously large leaves that she actually has to take a sponge to in order to clean them occasionally. It doesn't fit in her house anymore. I wonder if my plant will end up like this.

And some red tomatoes! There are #2 and #3. I forgot to take a picture of the first one that turned red. There's a green one in the back there that is still not red (and I took this picture several days ago). It's just amazing how much easier it is to grow stuff in Georgia!
