Pattern Notes: Misty Garden
from Scarf Style

Yarn: Halcyon Victorian Brushed Mohair purchased directly from the company which is a wool/ mohair/ nylon blend.
Needles: US 8
Gauge: 21 sts / 20 rows = 4" in pattern stitch

I made this a while back (mid-2005) after having a lot of yarn left over from To Dye For. I actually don't like the feather & fan pattern stitch very much, but I didn't know that at the time. This will be gifted to my dad's girlfriend for Christmas 2006.

Care: Hand wash in cool water or dry clean. Lay flat to dry.

Pattern Notes: Hearts
from Knitty's Breast Cancer Awareness Special Print Issue

Yarn: Red Heart Mcintosh (70% acrylic, 30% wool)
Needles: US 9, I think

This scarf is a Christmas gift for one of the granddaughter's of my dad's girlfriend, made in a couple days in November 2006. I used 2 strands held together and followed the pattern, except I made only 9 hearts on each side instead of 10. It is much smaller than it would have been with the yarn in the pattern but this is for a toddler, so it will work well. I found this yarn on an outing to Michael's and it is supprisingly nice and soft for a Red Heart yarn.

Care: Machine wash cold. Lay flat to dry.

Pattern Notes: Suede Garter Stitch Scarf
my own "pattern"

Yarn: Lion Suede Prints
Color: Mountaintop

Needles: US 8, I think

This scarf is a Christmas gift for another granddaughter of my dad's girlfriend, also made in a couple days in November 2006. I started knitting this scarf in seed stitch and realized it wasn't worth the extra effort because it this yarn looks great in garter stitch. It actually looks almost like seed stitch because the bumps are so defined. I am actually thinking of knitting up another one (for myself?). After basic garter stitch (15 stitches across) until I reached the "right" length, I just added 5 sections, 3 strands each, of fringe with my crochet hook.

Care: Machine wash cold. Lay flat to dry.

Pattern Notes: Rainy Day Scarf
from YarnDemon

Yarn: Paton's Shetland Chunky Tweed
Color: Dark Forest Green

Needles: US 9

This scarf is a Christmas gift for the grandson of my dad's girlfriend, again, made in a couple days in November 2006. I cast on only 20 stitches instead of the 28 that the pattern called for, and worked until the end of the skein.

Care: Machine wash cold on delicate cycle. Lay flat to dry.
